A year into COVID-19 and Cebu province has already encouraged local tourism. There were protocols in place when traveling from one city to another such as confirmed hotel accommodation, medical certificates, and the necessary face mask, face shield, and physical distancing.
Opening salvo for my summer is a road trip to Badian. Badian is located south of Cebu. It would take approximately around four to five hours from Cebu City to Badian (depending on the traffic and stops) . Badian boasts Lambug for its powder sand beach.
Plans awry and suddenly I got three days without anything to do. So me and my friend packed nothing but bikinis and hopped on the earliest bus bound for Hagnaya.
It has been a week since my first hike and I have been feeling low. I want to see the outdoors. Thankfully my friends from nearby companies (most of them were my schoolmates from college) invited me for a light trek. I got pretty excited and without hesitation blocked my Saturday.
“Shy, kat-kat ta!”
I heard that invitation for about three years but never did I got interested to reach a summit. I am more inclined to lounge at the beach and siesta all day. At that time, the physical strength that hiking needs, aside from the gears and stuff you need to pack are my concerns.
